Everything Seems So Happy

Everything seems so happy,
Living our youthful affection,
But there are always times of nagging worry,
When everything seems so perfect,
But something intrudes to arouse the mind to discomfort,
An uncertain answer, a betraying look,
Pauses of unprovoked silence, stab at the mind with concern,
Then you wait, hoping for a few words to deliver you from

the temporary feeling that something is so desperately wrong.
And when they come….everything seems so happy.…
