Summer Escape
A faceless sun throws its heat towards me,
The breezeless summers air sustains the life I live,
Pollen dances curiously in front of me,
It whispers your name, all the trees tell the same…
An image of you flickers like a candle,
Burning slowly its way through my mind,
The birds they sing to me, how foolish they say to me,
I was to believe….now I find myself blind.
Love’s heavy hand loosens its grip from around me,
The scent of this season helps me change,
With winter you left my heart cold,
I pray, like your love, with this new heat it may thaw.
Let now my sun not become black,
Help the stars not sink into the sea,
When she returns to tell me she loves me,
Take from me, that sweet voice,
That is there begging, begging go back.
